Belgian composer, born in 1971.
Native from Sambreville (BE), he now lives in Bastogne (BE), after having lived in France (Nancy) and in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (Clervaux).
He is graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in Mons (BE).
He teaches classical accordion, music theory, harmony and keyboard (synthesizer, CAM (Computer Aided Music)).
After having taught in numerous Belgian, French and Luxembourg establishments, he now gives lessons at the music school in Echternach (Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg).
Outre son travail d’enseignant, il mène une carrière de compositeur professionnel.
His personal and musical background brought him to create in many musical styles.
His favorite domain is the sound illustration world. He composes for movies, advertisements, video games, events...
For example, this music composed for the show "Epona" performed at the royal palace on August 30th, 2009 on the occasion of the Royal Couple's golden wedding. Besides the royal family, a lot of personalities (Ministers) were present at this event.
The music dedicated to the Child is also one of his big centers of interest.
Following the birth of his daughter in 2002, he released a CD of lullabies
« Le Chant des étoiles » (The Song of the Stars).
The album quickly met with success and over 13.000 CDs were sold in several European countries !
For these lullabies and other CDs wich were later released, the artist received words of congratulations and encouragement from the Royal Palace of Belgium and from well-known personalities including Yves DUTEIL and Gilbert MONTAGNE.
One of Chritian Gérard's most important creations is the game « Presto, the little Musician ».
"Presto" received the « Price of the Jury » by the Belgium Game Federation at the contest "Game of the year" 2007 !
It is also certified by the program « European Year of the Creativity and the Innovation 2009 » in Luxembourg !
Finally, music for teaching purposes makes up another essential part of Chistian's production.
Based on his teaching experience, Christian GERARD develops teaching and learning materials specially designed for use in music schools, academies and Conservatory.
Performed for Prince Philippe of Belgium at the inauguration of a science exhibition at the Palais des Expositions in Namur, Belgium.
Performed for the Luxembourg grand-ducal couple on the occasion of their Joyeuse Entrée in Grevenmacher.
Performed with Michel FUGAIN.
Classical accordion internship with Wjatscheslaw Semyonov, international concert accordionist, composer, teacher and professor at the GNESSIN institute in Moscow and at the Conservatory in Rostov.
